best locations in 2025
We have the privilege of living in a city and state that provides us with a thousand different choices. If you’re stuck and wondering where to go, I have a couple of suggestions! This list has been updated with some of my favorite and most convenient locations in and around the Mile High City. If the spot you’re looking for isn’t on the list, that’s totally ok! I love traveling and trying new places! Please just keep in mind that this will make it harder for me to make style suggestions, as I will be looking on the fly. Updated November 2025.
Hudson Gardens
Located on the west side of Littleton, Hudson Gardens is a super easy, family-friendly option. It has community gardens, gravel paths, and water features that give you a variety of options when looking for a background.

@CHAUTAUQUA PARK
If you’ve been in downtown Denver, then chances are you have walked past Union Station. What used to be the center for Amtrak has now been filled with trendy stores, shops, and other vendors, creating a bustling hub of activity for locals and tourists alike.
Union Station
Rino arts district
If you’re more into the hip city vibes, then this may be the place for you. The textures, colors, and industrial styles make this area a great spot for some artsy street style photography. Denver Central Market is a great place to start, and then we can move around from there.
Mount Falcon has two primary options: the Morrison trail head and the West trail head. The Morrison trail is almost entirely mountain views and prairie grasses. Great if you love the earthy prairie style. The West trail has more greenery with trees dotting the rolling foothills.

Red rocks park
Even if you aren’t a native, chances are you’ve heard of Red Rocks. This nationally prized concert venue also makes for some great photo opportunities. The amphitheater often sits empty throughout most of the day, with concerts several evenings a week. This does need to be kept in mind as it can affect our ability to shoot.
@Roxborough PARK
@Summit County
chautauqua Park
Chautauqua is probably recognized by most. Located in Boulder, about 45 minutes from Denver, this spot is a favorite for Seniors and Family portraits. This area can get very busy, and it isn’t uncommon to be sharing your space with 5-6 other photographers.
Roxborough Park
The red rocks give a very similar feeling to Red Rocks Amphitheater, but with a touch more backcountry feel. A little more secluded and designed more for hiking, this state park gives you so many unique options.
Summit county
Nothing says Colorado more than Summit County. Breck, Keystone, and Copper are all beautiful options with many having favorite trails, towns, or private homes that make for some incredible photos. Plenty of options for alpine lakes, mountain views, and historic towns. Obviously, these take a considerable amount of time and planning, so a travel fee will need to be discussed.
Things to keep in Mind…
Certain things can help your finished product turn out better than you imagined. Things like weather, light, time of year, and day of the week all affect your photos. Generally speaking, sunrise and sunset give you the best warm lighting. We live in the mountains, so the “sunsets” are usually slightly earlier than what the weather app tells you. The hour before/as the sun is setting is called Golden Hour and frequently carries the best light, whereas midday light can be harsh and often carries heavy shadows. Location of the shoot and day of the week can heavily affect how busy it is. If we are shooting somewhere like Union Station, then you will definitely have other people around/watching. If you are a more reserved or quiet individual, then shooting in a highly trafficked public place can be challenging. Parents, please keep this in mind for your seniors. People frequently compliment those being photographed on their looks or style, or just altogether ignore us, so don’t let that get in the way if it is what you really want. Holidays and weekends are always busy. I am located in Parker, and not everything is an easy driving distance, so if your location is a little further, that’s ok! Just keep in mind I may discuss other options or a travel fee if necessary.
